logo file torrentTorrent è un nome che avrete sentito pronunciare molte volte, viene spesso associato al download di contenuti protetti dal diritto d’autore ma, tale affermazione è vera a metà. Può anche essere che non avete ancora sentito parlare di file torrent o, se ne avete sentito parlare, ciò sia stato dopo la notevole copertura mediatica del caso “Pirate Bay”. Alla fine di questo breve articolo introduttivo,saprete finalmente cosa sono i famosi torrent.

PER INIZIARE

Torrent non è sinonimo di illegalità, sebbene le major stiano cercando di associare la parola torrent a pirateria, ciò è assolutamente sbagliato. Con il termine torrent si definisce una semplice estensione la cui dimensione è solitamente pochi KB (una piccolissima frazione di 1 MB). Un torrent è quindi un semplice file come i documenti creati con Microsoft Word ma lo scopo è diverso, tramite i file torrent portiamo a compimento il download di sofware, video, documenti o musica da Internet con una velocità nettamente superiore rispetto a programmi come eMule.

QUALCOSA DI PIU’ TECNICO

Torrent è l’estensione dei file di Bittorrent (Bittorrent è un protocollo P2P – un protocollo è un insieme di regole che regolano la comunicazione fra una o più entità, anche il TCP-IP è un protocollo), lo scopo di questo tipo di files è la condivisione di file personali come mp3, software, film ma, per dare inizio al download avremo bisogno innanzitutto di un client torrent. Con il termine client torrent si definiscono tutti i programmi (software) che sono in grado di interpretare i file torrent e dare quindi inizio al downlod dei contenuti multimediali via Torrent.

RIASSUMENDO

Per dare inizio al download di contenuti multimediali da Internet via Torrent abbiamo bisogno di un file torrent ma anche di un client torrent, una lista di client torrent è disponibile nella sezione Guide, avete solo che l’imbarazzo della scelta. E’ tutto ? No di certo, più di qualcuno si chiederà come entrare in possesso dei files torrent. Per scaricare i files torrent e, ipotizzando d’aver già proceduto sul vostro PC all’installazione di un client torrent, dovete “interpellare” un motore di ricerca torrent, il consiglio è andare su Pirate Bay (http://thepiratebay.org/) oppure IsoHunt (http://isohunt.com/) e darvi da fare, troverete sicuramente ciò di cui siete in cerca..

Avete letto tutto ? E’ appena l’inizio, ora dovrete capire cosa sono i seed, leech e i peer prima di scaricare via Torrent, sarete maggiomente “produttivi” !
