Domonique Brown is an artist and creator of popular lifestyle brand DomoINK. Despite holding a remote job as an interactive designer which takes up most of her time, she makes a staggering $22,000 a month in passive income. My Flexible Schedule
Domonique’s full-time job dictates her typical week. Monday through Thursday, she works from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. She has more flexibility on Fridays, finishing at 1:00 p.m. as she is able to wake up at 8:00 a.m., spending an hour on emails in the morning.
She sets aside Mondays to produce social media content. On Tuesdays, she completes more granular tasks like editing footage. Wednesday is for working on new art pieces, with the process documented and posted online. She makes time to learn new art or business skills on Thursdays, maintaining a flexible schedule on Saturdays and Sundays.
Brainstorming for the Future
On Fridays, she updates her business’ website and spends time creating new products, yearning to offer even more to her consumers. She recently collaborated with Dr. Martens for their Santa Monica location and worked with NASCAR to honor female track presidents during Women’s History Month.
As a source of inspiration for her work, she often visits local art galleries. She wishes to have her art featured in museums one day, aiming to inspire young black creatives as well as fulfill a personal dream.
Domonique’s Art
Her work now features in Target’s 2023 Black History Month collection. A collaboration with the hair accessory line Goody Tru will be sold at Walmart in 2024. Domonique’s art will also be seen in the stationary section, made for Walmart’s Black History Month collection.
Her goal is to have her art hanging in museums one day. When she would visit galleries growing up, seeing work from Black artists was so rare. She wants to achieve this dream to inspire other young Black creatives, too.
Through her efforts, Domonique hopes to contribute art, apparel, and home decor in celebration of diversity and empowerment.
