In a post on social media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wished Americans a happy Thanksgiving holiday. Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to the American people for their support and sympathy towards Ukraine and their struggle for victory against an illegal and unprovoked attack. He emphasized that the fight for freedom will not be lost and that Ukraine and the United States guarantee it together.

Russia and neighbors working to combat terrorism, Putin says
Russian President Vladimir Putin made a statement during the latest Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit held in Minsk, Belarus. He mentioned that the alliance was working together to combat terrorism through “Operation Mercenary,” an effort to prevent citizens of CSTO member states from traveling abroad to join terrorist organizations. The CSTO is an intergovernmental military alliance that includes Russia and other post-Soviet states.

Ukraine’s national seed bank relocates from Kharkiv to safer place
Ukraine’s national seed bank has been successfully moved from Kharkiv to a more secure location. Due to damage to a research facility near the seed bank, it was crucial to ensure the preservation of the seed collection. Over 50,000 seeds have been safely transported to a secure location, including important seed species for food security.

‘Europe poses a threat to Russia,’ Kremlin says
The Kremlin has stated that European NATO countries pose a threat to Russia rather than the risk emanating from Moscow. According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Europe, as a U.S.-controlled continent, is participating in NATO’s movement towards Russia’s borders, which poses a threat to their national security.

Norway also considering closing border point with Russia
Norway is considering the possibility of closing its only border crossing with Russia as there has been an influx of migrants trying to cross border checkpoints. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store stated that if it is necessary, Norway could follow the example set by Finland, which decided to close all but one of its border checkpoints with Russia.

Russian forces still trying to encircle Avdiivka
The Ukrainian general staff reported that Russian forces are still attempting to encircle the town of Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine. Despite a reduction in air attacks, the town is still subjected to multiple attacks from Russian forces.

North Korea received Russian aid for satellite launch, South Korea lawmakers claim
South Korean lawmakers have claimed that North Korea received assistance from Russia for the successful launch of its reconnaissance satellite. The data exchange followed a meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which they promised to collaborate on satellite projects.
